About Naai Community
Naai Community, dubbed as Naai City, is a rural Kpelle village located in Suakoko District, Bong County, in upper Liberia. The community traces its origins to its founder, "Dormeyan Nutah", a legacy preserved by referring to its current school, Dormeyan Nutah Public School. Located at approximately Latitude 6.9503° (6° 57′ 1″ N) and Longitude -9.54013° (9° 32′ 25″ W), the community is accessible via a motorable dirt road, though it is heavily affected by potholes, linking Naai to Suakoko City. Travel to the area is possible by motor vehicle, motorcycle, or even by air.
Naai aims to achieve full city status by 2050, with the qualification process currently underway and expected to align with the community’s Vision 2050 goals. The town is home to Dormeyan Nutah Public School, an elementary institution serving approximately 500 students, both male and female. Naai also hosts three churches, three functional boreholes supplying water to residents, and a town hall.
In contrast, the nearby community of Korlollies features well-constructed standard public bathrooms and a single borehole well. The community, however, currently lacks a health care facility to serve its population. The broader community landscape includes several isolated forest areas, contributing to its natural environment and resource potential.
