OUR INITIATIVES
We Are Transforming Our Lives
Five programs are at the heart of our initiatives: Holistic community development, Education and Literacy, Health and Wellness, natural resource management, and sustainable livelihood Programs
We, the people of Naai Community, are committed to shaping our own future. To guide this transformation, our foremost priority is a 25‑Year Master Plan for sustainable development, which is being implemented through our legally registered municipal entity: the Naai Community Development Authority (NCDA).
The NCDA is dedicated to advancing the long-term socio-economic development of our community. Our Master Plan centers on five core initiatives: Holistic Community Development, Education and Literacy, Health and Wellness, Natural Resource Management, and Sustainable Livelihood Programs. Through these programs, we are dedicated to improving the quality of life for current residents and future generations. By embracing collective action, inclusive participation, and continuous engagement, we are building a foundation for meaningful and lasting progress in Naai Community.

Education And Literacy Initiatives
Naai Community is committed to promoting sustainable education and reducing illiteracy in Suakoko, Bong County. We believe that education is the foundation for empowerment, resilience, and long-term community growth.
Current Challenges
Elementary School Facilities: Naai Community Our community operates an elementary school with an auditorium, but the library is in urgent need of renovation.
High Dropout Rates: Many students, especially at the elementary and high school levels, face challenges that lead to dropping out of school.
Opportunities Around Us
Naai is surrounded by several higher education institutions, including University College in SKT Town and the CARI Center for Agricultural Research Institute in Suakoko. These institutions provide inspiration and potential partnerships for advancing education in our community.
Our Vision for the Future
Adult Literacy Programs: Expanding opportunities for adults to gain literacy skills and strengthen their livelihoods.
Vocational Training: Introducing practical programs such as tailoring, soap making, and other livelihood activities to equip community members with sustainable skills.
Educational Sustainability: Revitalizing our library, supporting students to stay in school, and building bridges between local institutions and community initiatives.
Through these programs, Naai Community strives to create a future where every child and adult has access to quality education, practical skills, and the opportunity to thrive.

Natural Resources Management
The Naai Community Natural Resources Management Program emerges from a deep understanding of our land, forests, and waters—knowledge reaffirmed through the 2025 Naai Community Forest Survey. The survey revealed both the richness of our ecosystems and the growing pressures threatening their survival. In response, the community has committed to a long‑term, locally driven program designed to protect, restore, and wisely manage the natural resources that sustain our livelihoods, culture, and future.
This program represents more than environmental stewardship; it is an investment in community resilience, economic opportunity, and global ecological health. By strengthening forest governance, promoting sustainable harvesting, restoring degraded lands, and safeguarding vital water sources, Naai aims to secure the well‑being of its people while contributing to broader regional and global conservation goals. Healthy forests and wetlands in Naai support biodiversity, stabilize the climate, protect watersheds, and preserve cultural heritage—benefits that extend far beyond our borders.
Grounded in community leadership and guided by principles of ecological stewardship, conservation, and responsible water management, the Naai Community Natural Resources Management Program stands as a model of how rural communities can protect their environment while building a sustainable future for generations to come.

Community Development
The Naai Community Development Agenda, built on the idea of sustainability, focuses on natural resources and livelihood, education and literacy, and health and wellness. These form the pillars that support our vision for a resilient and thriving community.
Partnerships for Progress
We recognize that sustainability requires collaboration. Naai Community shall actively seek avenues to engage with local stakeholders and international partners as we chart our path toward inclusive growth and long-term prosperity.
Expanding Our Focus
Beyond our core priorities, we are exploring additional areas of development, including
Infrastructure: Improving roads and communication systems to connect our community more effectively.
Transportation Access: Addressing the challenge of the single unpaved dirt road that passes through our community, which is currently filled with potholes and hinders mobility and economic activity.
Our Commitment
Through these initiatives, Naai Community strives to create opportunities, strengthen resilience, and ensure that every step we take today builds a brighter, sustainable future for generations yet unborn.

Health and Wellness
Naai Community is dedicated to promoting sustainable healthcare and wellness for all its residents. We believe that every person deserves access to quality health services, regardless of income or circumstance.
Current Challenges
Limited Access to Care: Many community members rely on forest herbs to treat ailments, as the nearest hospital is often too costly.
Unregulated Pharmacies: Numerous pharmacies are operated by untrained and unqualified staff, with elementary school dropouts diagnosing conditions, prescribing medications, and even administering injections and drips.
Emergency Needs: Without a local health post, residents face delays in receiving urgent care before reaching Phebe Hospital and School of Nursing.
Our Vision
Community Health Post: Establishing a local health post and first aid center to stabilize emergencies before referral to larger hospitals.
Safe & Qualified Care: Ensuring that healthcare services are delivered by trained professionals, reducing reliance on unqualified providers.
Preventive Wellness: Promoting awareness, education, and sustainable practices that improve long-term health outcomes.
Opportunities Around Us
Naai Community is surrounded by respected institutions such as Cuttington University College in SKT Town and Phebe Hospital and School of Nursing. These institutions provide opportunities for collaboration, training, and support to strengthen healthcare delivery in our community.
Commitment
Through these initiatives, Naai Community strives to build a healthier, more resilient future - where wellness is sustained, emergencies are managed locally, and every resident has the chance to live in excellent health.
Livelihood and Socio-Economic Programs
The Livelihood & Socio‑Economic Development Program is Naai Community’s commitment to building a stronger, more resilient future—one where every household has the opportunity to thrive. Guided by the insights from our 2025 community survey, this program focuses on transforming local livelihoods through modern agriculture, sustainable resource use, cooperative development, and expanded economic opportunities.
Naai is a community rich in potential: hardworking farmers, skilled fishers, dedicated livestock keepers, vibrant savings groups, and a strong spirit of cooperation. Yet persistent challenges—limited tools, poor road access, inadequate training, and declining natural resources—continue to restrict growth. This program was created to bridge those gaps.
Through targeted training, improved farming and processing technologies, stronger financial systems, and community‑led enterprises, the Livelihood & Socio‑Economic Development Program aims to elevate incomes, strengthen food security, and empower youth and women. By promoting cooperative models, value‑added processing, aquaculture expansion, and sustainable land management, the program supports both immediate economic needs and long‑term development goals.
This is more than a development initiative—it is a pathway for Naai to unlock its full potential, restore its environment, and build a prosperous future for generations to come.
